Storm Eagle – Part 2 – Built!

Storm Eagle

Build finally finished after about 8 hours of bending, filing, gluing and green-stuffing!

I shall now give it a spray and a nice paint job. I will post more pictures soon but I’m going to switch my attention to some of my other models for a bit and I’ll come back to the Storm Eagle.

  1. Hello Tykens,
Would you mind posting the actual instructions for the kit? I would really like to see how much Stormraven is on this thing to see if it’s magnitizable before I actually buy it…

    Hi there,

I didn’t do a step-by-step guide for this I’m afraid but there isn’t actually much of the Storm Raven kit there. The wings, main engines, front engines and top hull are all part of the Storm Raven kit but that’s about it. With care, I think the wings would be magnetizable but probably not much else.

There are a couple more pictures linked here: https://tykensrift.wordpress.com/2012/05/29/storm-eagle-part-1/

On a scale of 1-10 how hard would you say this model is for someone that’s never worked with FW stuff before (but isn’t a total muppet πŸ™‚ )?

Well to be honest, I found it pretty tough going. I have built Forge World stuff before (and I’d like to think I’m not a total muppet πŸ™‚ ) but it was hard work because the resin was pretty warped. If you’re confident you can work with resin then I’d say give it a go but just be patient. I built my over 3 evenings at about 4-5 hours a night.
