Happy Valentines Day!
Ok, I’m a day late for Titan Wednesday but posting today shows my commitment level 🙂
Something of a micro-update today because although I’ve done some work since the last post, it’s not easy to tell from the photographs.
I’ve continued the work on the weapons as a priority and most of that attention has been focused on the detailing and edge highlights on the Turbo Laser. A careful highlight of Ironbreaker has been applied – after a paint spilling disaster – along the metallic edges and I’ve added some Runelord Brass to the copper-like detailing.
I’ve also picked out the last of the detailing on the legs with a base of black, the next task is to paint all these with Tin Bitz, I think that will feel quite labour intensive so I’m putting it off a bit to be honest.
The last thing I’ve done for this week is layer up the main carapace with blue! LOTS of blue! This has been a process of basecoat, heavy drybrush, wash, heavy drybrush, glaze, heavy drybrush, glaze and a final drybrush!!
It may seem over the top but it’s resulted in a nice blended effect that (in my biased opinion) makes it look more like a painted metal, with natural areas of wear. It’s hard to see unless up close but I’ve taken a pic anyway 🙂
That’s the lot for this week!
Thanks for reading.
Neil
This looks really nice, looking forward to see the rest
Thanks Peter. It’s slow going because my hobby hours are very limited at the moment. There’s some more progress for this weeks post… so keep an eye out 🙂
